A struggle

this is the first time I've tried working with Jalie patterns and Lycra and it's been a struggle. The instructions are hard to follow - it's easier to ditch them and use some common sense. The construction is not difficult and the Lycra not as difficult as I thought. However the elastic lengths are a joke and it's so hard to unpick this fabric. Most online tutorials suggest approximately 1:1 elastic, but I (foolishly) followed the instructions instead. Will re-cut and try again - I wasn't expecting my first try to be perfect, but I'm quite shocked that such a simple garment has turned out so badly.

Luv this pattern ..

Very easy to work with and fit to a skater. By far the most popular request I receive to make for a skater so far.

I LOVE This Leotard!

I made the cap sleeve view A for my 8 year old daughter in ballet black. This is the first leotard I have made, and I have limited experience with my new serger. The pattern is easy to follow and the video instructions on this site were very helpful! This leotard is so much nicer than any I have purchased, I can't imagine buying off-the-rack again! I made a KwikSew leo the next day, it's nice too but it didn't finish nearly as nicely as this Jalie pattern. Thank you Jalie for a beautiful pattern with so many sizes that we can adapt as she grows! I wouldn't normally offer to sew for someone else, but a friend's child is very long through the torso and this pattern will be a snap to customize to her figure

Fab pattern, great fit, simple to follow

I am a self employed dance costumer and love Jalie patterns. I bought this one to make a duet pair for modern dance for my daughter and her partner - they are very different shapes as one is a gymnast, the other a horse rider! The pattern was very easy to adapt to their shapes and went together beautifully - watching the video showing the technique for the neck binding really helped clarify the instructions - it's soooo easy and really finishes the edges. I chose to line the skirts with the fabric that I used as the bodice contrast, this really added a bit of wow factor as the girls danced. The cut of the bodice flattered both of the girls shapes and they are very pleased
